For Patients

How do I book an appointment?

Contact your family doctor, nurse practitioner, walk-in clinic, tele-health doctor or specialist if you are in need of a
Holter Monitor, ECG, or Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor. Physicians can fax a requisition to 250-220-3338.
Alternatively, the physician can give you a copy of the requisition and you can contact us directly to arrange an appointment at
250-475-8371.
When requested by a physician our ECG and Holter Monitoring services are completely covered by MSP, with no cost to you.
Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring services are not covered by MSP.

What will happen during my appointment?

Your appointment will take approximately 15 minutes. One of our team members will arrive at your location at a pre-arranged time.  They will explain the test, perform the ECG and/or apply the monitor. If you are wearing a monitor overnight, the pick up time will also be arranged by your technician.
Our holter monitors weigh only 1.2 oz!

What is a holter monitor?

A holter monitor is a continuous recording of your heart rate and rhythm.  Your physician may request a holter monitor to rule out cardiac arrhythmia or assess a known cardiac arrhythmia.  When the request is received by IMCT one of our friendly team members will contact you.  We will arrange an appointment at your preferred location, such as your home or office.

What is a 12-lead ECG?

A 12-lead ECG (electrocardiogram) is a common and painless cardiac test that is used to monitor your heart's health.  Electrodes will be applied to your skin, and a brief recording of your heart's rate and rhythm will then be recorded.
